The Smuggler Reserve Pinot Noir
Wine
Helen's Hill The Smuggler Reserve Pinot Noir is a single vineyard, single clone wine. It is sourced from a low lying, east facing block of Abel clone Pinot Noir vines.
When the fruit reaches the right balance of acidity, sugar levels and flavour it is handpicked. At the winery it is destemmed and lightly crushed with some whole berries maintained.
Open fermented it spends 10-20 days on skins with daily pump overs to enhance the structure and aromatics. It is then pressed and racked to new and seasoned French oak to mature.
Dark crimson, Helen's Hill The Smuggler Reserve Pinot Noir has intense dark fruit flavours, spice and powerful tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
